What Are Blackheads And Whiteheads?

Acne Treatments

They are similar. A “pimple” is filled with oil, and sometimes also with
dead-skin cells and white blood cells (puss) trying to fight trapped / growing
bacteria. The reason a blackhead is so hard to clear is that it has no oil in
it (even if you’re oily skinned overall), but has trapped dead-skin cells and
white blood cells fighting trapped / growing bacteria … the pore is open,
dirt sticks to it, thus it appears black. The only difference between a
blackhead and whitehead is that, with a whitehead, the pore is closed and dirt
cannot
get to it.

By maintaining soft, moist, “elastic” surface skin and encouraging
exfoliation, it helps … oils such as jojoba help the matter in a blackhead
dissolve
and clear … and products with salicylic acid are the best IMO to further clean
and exfoliate inside the pores, something our non-drug topical products
cannot do.
